Formula for excell

Postby aelara » Tue May 01, 2007 8:09 am

Couple of things I need to find out if anyone would be so kind:
1. How can I (if possible) use the software/triggered betting to, for example, lay a horse when the race goes in play, say at 5.00 (up to here I know the formula for excel) and then have another lay go in if it goes to 4.00, another one at 3.00, etc.

2. How could I do the above but also have a back lay taken after any of the lay odds have been taken. For example, lay a horse for 4.00 after the race has gone in play, have a lay also for 3.00 and 2.00 but also have a back lay of say 10.00 set up if the horse drifts, regardless whether the 3.00 or 2.00 has been taken?

Hope anyone can understand what I'm looking for.

You can put the same market in multiple tabs and then into multiple sheets .... so you could have, say, the first sheet trigger a lay of 4.0, two and three do the same but at lower odds, and sheet 4 could read sheet 1 to decide whether to do the back bet.

Thanks for the reply. That works alright but I'm not sure I follow the back bit of the bet that you suggested. Would that need some new formula in excel?

Something along the lines of:

IF ('your first worksheet name'$T$5<=enter your stake/liability as a number,"BACK","") - where T5 would be the selection matched in your first lay, it could be T10 etc etc.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
