Bet ref cancelled

Postby andyh » Sun Jun 03, 2007 9:48 pm

Quick question, set up excel sheet for triggered betting using some of the fantastic advice found on here. Left running for the first time today and some bets have 'cancelled' in the Bet ref column but they have been matched on BF. Is it a case of when the bet is fired it is not matched but remains 'live' and must therefore be matched some time after?

Apologies if this has been already answered but if it is as detailed above then I will be a happy man, or am I missing something????

Cheers

The program checks the bet refs against the refs recorded in the bets manager and if they are not in the list then the bet ref is changed to cancelled in Excel, this can be seen by placing a bet that doesn't get matched and then manually cancelling the bet in BA. It has been reported that bet refs also get changed to cancelled when auto selecting markets which shouldn't be happening, but I think maybe this is the problem in your case also. I am investigating this problem and will get back to you.

Hi Gary,

I'm not autoselecting markets, have set up seperate sheets for each market although this did happen on a number of the sheets. I am not too bothered by the cancelled message if it still means my bet has been fired into the market place just once (matched or not).

Cheers

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
