Installation Help

I've downloaded version 'z' and am trying to install it on a Laptop, but I am getting the following:

Windows Installer
"Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Program on the Control Panel"

Unfortunately it's a Company Laptop and access to the Control Panel is restricted by the Administrator

Is there another way around this? I've tried 'Search' and removed files that I thought would be associated with this application.

I'm only guessing but I would imagine there are registry keys that need to be removed as well.

If Gary sees this he should be able to tell you where to find them if there are any there. Be very careful if you do change the registry (if it allows you to).

I asked gary about something similar and apparently it doesn't register to the registry and can run as a standalone -

Just copy the c:\program files\betfair trader folder from your pc to your laptop and put a shortcut to the program file on the desktop.

Looks like I'm screwed!!!

Copied the folder and it's files to CD; loaded folder to Laptop from CD; downloaded & ran dotnetfx; opened program by clicking on Betfair Trading.exe; clicked on select market; market window opened ................. and stays clear i.e. no markets showing

Did I do anything wrong?? ....... or are the System Administrators just being 'pissy'!!!
