The running clock in triggered Betting

Postby cara » Mon Aug 06, 2007 10:27 am

I am having a problem with the running clock in an auto laying spreadsheet. In so far as I want to fire a bet at say 20seconds before the off. I convert the clock by using =D2-INT(D2)*24. Using set criteria, a horse is selected and the row highlighted. The problem is that immediately the running clock becomes a minus fig. I get a #value in all of the cells that have a connection to the time. The highlighted row of the selected horse also disappears. I need to know that selection because I fire off a BACK bet immediately the race becomes “INPLAY”. I also end up with “Invalid Price” in the stake col. ( I don’t know if this is a related problem or something else is going wrong)

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Never tried changing the clock like that before.

I would work with something like this:
=IF(D2<=TIMEVALUE("00:00:20"),"BET","no bet")

So BET appears when within 20 secs of the start.

I'd double check that you are rounding to 2 decimal places for your stake.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
