Locking in data of a bet.

Postby cara » Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:34 pm

Hi

Is there any way of locking in the data on which a bet is made. The bet is automatically selected but once the race is over, the data disappears. I would like to retain the row of data for the bet that was made.

While I'm at it, Is the "Bet Ref" a number or text. If I want to include a bet ref cell in a formula do I say, IF(A1>0, or do I say IF(A1="",

Thanx

You'll be sick of hearing from me.

To have a "bet history" the only way i know of is to write code that will copy the data to another sheet - probably when the race becomes suspended (after being inplay). I'm afraid i haven't written any code to do that.

For the Bet REf, it may depend on whether the bet is partially filled (i think)
i would suggest using =""
so that there is either a bet ref or there isn't.

Sick of hearing from me

Never George

I didn't write directly to you as I thought that you would be getting sick of me. After all we are probably the only 2 on here that know of Hilda and Evadne.

If it is code then I'm afraid that lets me out. As you will have already gathered from our other chats.

Thanx for the usual prompt reply.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
