User Manual - Gary/Mark Please respond

Postby glider » Wed Aug 15, 2007 10:48 am

Gary/Mark

What has happened to the User Manual ?

From past posts you have stated ................
The manual will include instructions on how to set up triggered betting Gary Mar 2nd

....it's being made right now..... Mark April 5th

The User Manual is still being worked on.......apologies to all for the delay. Mark May 14th

Since then I can find nothing on this topic from you. Others have stated in the past that it is not acceptable for a commercial product such as yours to not have a comprehensive User Manual along the lines of that which is available to competitors such as Bet Angel. The help files are not a substitute to a good manual.

The help files explain how the program functions, if you do not find this acceptable then you are welcome to a refund, you do not have to use our product. Most of my time is spent in development, that is my priority. The vast majority of our customers don't have a problem with this, unfortunately you cannot please all the people all the time.

Gary

Firstly. thanks for the reply, secondly I am not looking for a refund.

It is obviously your decision on how you support your sofware product and I understand that a lot of your customers are happy with the way things are going. However I believe a lot of your customers may well have been with you since the early days and have managed to keep up with the developments with the code as they have been incrementally added and are comfortable with it.

I believe though that you could attract a lot of new customers if you had a User Manual with a number of worked examples of how the program works and what the potential uses are in differing markets . I suspect that going forward the program will be become increasingly complex and for new users (customers) they might be overawed by all the options available.

All of course IMHO :)

Hi Glider,

I take it you have seen the help file that accompanies the Beta version?

As Gary said he is working full time on development which is required to meet users requirements.

And at the moment I am still in full time employment elsewhere, so can only devote spare time to the project.
I would hope to be full time on Betting Assistant as well in the future and definitely would like to include worked examples in the help file including some videos.

In the meantime, we will do our best to meet all our customers needs and ask you to bear with us.

Obviously we are well aware that there are competitors out there such as Bet Angel but would also point out that there is big difference in the cost of using the competitor products.

We like to think we offer value for money, that's not to say that our competitors don't, it's all relevant to what you get.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
