Non Runner

Postby knot » Sun Jun 01, 2008 7:08 pm

if a non runner is declared 2 mins before the off how is this shown in BA as its too late to remove the horses from list of runners. I ask this as i only place my selection if the total number of runners is less than 14 and i use BA with excel.

If horse's name is Muhajaar it becomes Muhajaar (NR)

just back to the old non-runners subject, if the non-runner is declared before the market is opened in BA, i dont think it displays any information about the (NR) at all, can anyone confirm this? and so how do you go about finding the non-runner either from excel or COM in this case?

If you open the market after the non-runner is declared, then it's no longer in the betfair list of runners. But the API does also return a list of non-runners - I'm not sure if BA picks this up at the mo. It could no doubt send it to another cell in Excel if there was enough demand
(it's just a text string with all the non-runners, so it would then be up to you to split it up and use it as you wanted)

That Non-Runner information in Excel would be useful to me. Even if it was one string I could split it up. Also the Reduction Factor would be of some use too and the time it was taken out.

What do you say Gary?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
