In running E2 and F2

Postby alrodopial » Sat Oct 04, 2008 7:44 pm

Hi,
Is it possible that while a race is in running BA (through Betfair) will send in E2 the "In play" and in F2 the "Suspended" ?
Secondly when a race is finished is the "closed" in F2 sended always and quickly?
Is this a good way to identify that the race has finished?
Thanks

=IF(AND(E2="In Play",F2=Suspended"),"True","False") is the formula i use.

In which case do you use it?
Do you use it to identify that the race has ended?

Just to be pedantic... the following does the same job

Code: Select all
=AND(E2="In Play",F2="Suspended")

A market may come out of suspension for a photo finish, and markets are generally closed a few minutes after the end of an event.

I'm recording odds IR every 0.5 sec and if the race is finished i change the refresh rate at 999 sec.
But few times while the race is IR and not Finished the refresh rate goes to 999 sec and after that the race has finished.
I name the race as finished when E2=In Play and F2=Suspended (among few other conditions) so i suspect that i get from betfair these signals in E2,F2 in running by error.
I'll check it again and come back.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
