List of the Triggers for the Q2 Cell in Excel

Postby throwmeadisc » Thu Oct 09, 2008 2:02 pm

Hi Gary/Mark,

Is it possible to have an update list of triggers for the Q2 cell in Excel please?

I know of a few but I think there are some extra ones I don't know about and can't find in the forum. eg. Updating of the Log Bets Sheet (I might be dreaming that).

Would be great to have a comprehensive list and maybe in the help file too...

Cheers Guys

Al :)

The help file for Excel functions is up to date for version 1.1.0.20 which is the official release. I have been working on the next release for a while which includes the following triggers not included in version 1.1.0.20.

-5: select first market in quick pick list
-6: update bet results (only valid when logging bet results)
-7: clear bets results (only valid when logging bet results)

You can download the version I am working on from http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... a_Test.msi (version 1.1.0.24). You first need to uninstall the current version using the control panel.

Thank you Gary. These will be most useful especially in finding out what prices you got if you are betting at Betfair-SP and can't wait for the off.

So does that mean u can now trigger the an update to the bet results from excel rather than waiting for the next race?

If so what is the trigger please?

Thank you.

Yes, but it still depends on Betfair settling the market. Put -6 in cell Q2. Make sure you are using ver 1.1.0.24 or it will not work.

I'm only after getting the price that my SP Bet got matched at, Bet results are not a concern.

Cheers

Hi Gary,

If I put in -6 in Q2 then the betlog does not update with bets placed. Does the trigger just update the results and not fill the Bet Log sheet like it should do when auto selecting the markets? If so, can the -6 trigger please fill and update the Bet Log sheet?

Example.
Excel Link setup and Bet Logging enable, inc Links to Bet Log sheet (Sheet 2). Bet placed via Trigger in excel. Bet matched. -6 put in Q2. No Bet info in Bet Log Sheet.

Extra Info.
I am using version .39
Don't use Autoselect Markets, just -1 in Q2 to change markets.

Thanks,

Al

The bet logging sheet is updated on every single refresh of Excel, it does not have to be triggered. You could even place bets via Betfair's website and they will appear on the MyBets sheet. Are you sure you ticked 'Log current bets' and provide a worksheet named MyBets?

Thanks for the reply Gary.

The mybets sheet is no good for me as I am trying to record what price I get Betfair SP at. I want to be able to place a SP bet get the Bet ref and then move to another market. A bit later I will then use the BetRef to look up the Betlog and see what price I got at the off. I know I could wait until the off, but when races are delayed this causes issues. Also I don't use autoselect so I wanted a way to update the BetLog table.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks.

Al

Hi Gary,

Have you had any thoughts on how I could get the Betfair SP price after I have navigated away from the market? It would really help me a great deal...

The Bet log Sheet will not update unless I have Autoselect markets on

Thanks,

Al :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
