Losing connection in Excel

Postby yursaduian » Tue Jan 20, 2009 8:51 pm

Hi Gary Can you help please?

I currently use your code to obtain the saddlecloth numbers and RP tissue prices in my worksheets.

Everything works fine except that occasionally I seem to lose the feed and the numbers just go blank. Its frustrating when its close to the off and somtimes it can be flicking in and out every few seconds.

Is this a trait of using this code or is the problem closer to home? (I have a wireless network and my ISP is Virgin and I've never been 100% confident with either)

Also, before I replace my MS Excel program, is there any reason why this code won't work with the "OpenOffice" speadsheets?

Thanks for your help

I'll look into it.

Sorry, it's not compatible with Open Office.

I notice you are using version 1.1.0.38.

Try version 1.1.0.44 http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... a_Test.msi

You must first uninstall the previous version using the Windows control panel.

Have you had a chance to have a look yourself?

Cheers

I cannot replicate the problem here, maybe there is something about your spreadsheet causing the issue. Would you be able to send me your spreadsheet so I can test it under the exact same conditions?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
