BACKSP and LAYSP. The stake column sets the liability and the odds column sets the minimum/maximum odds that you want to accept.

You need to upgrade to version 1.1.0.65t

Install it from http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... istant.msi

Placing SP bet function not as available thru Betfair screen

Postby ians1711 » Fri Jul 23, 2010 5:41 pm

Gary
Can't get this to work. I set Trigger column to BACK-SP, Odds column to 200 and Stake to 2. At in play, I get a back bet at odds BELOW 200. The facility on the main betfair screen is to place a BACK SP bet any time before the start of the race and specify a MIN Odds value. The bet is not made until the race goes in play, and only if the actual SP is greater than the specified MIN odds value. I suspect if I specify a lower odds value, and the current odds are already higher than my specified value that you will place a bet immediately and not wait for the race to go in play.

It's BACKSP, not BACK-SP which is different. BACK-SP sets the "keep bet" to SP so that if it is not matched before the off it is converted to SP.

I did say it was BACKSP in my previous post.

It is in the user guide. If you look under "Version 65 changes" and then under "Excel changes" you will find the following paragraph.
Added new Excel triggers BACKSP and LAYSP. The stake column sets the liability and the odds column sets the minimum/maximum odds that you want to accept.

It doesn't say more than that as that's all there is to it. Are you having a problem using this feature?

Thanks for your quick answer.
No, I have no problems (in the moment!) as I'm very new to code triggered betting and have to learn the basics yet. But as I have to do my bets at BFSP I have to learn all facts about this...
Are there eventually any sample sheets for BFSP-betting available anywhere?

There aren't, but it's just the same as normal triggered betting except the bets won't be matched until shortly after the market turns in play. There are a few triggered betting examples here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=8

.
Hi Gary,

I'm going to use the (relatively) new LAYSP trigger for the first time soon.

I understand from the help guide which columns do what:

"...The stake column sets the liability and the odds column sets the minimum/maximum odds that you want to accept."

Can you please clarify for me exactly how the odds column should be completed?

For example, say that I want my acceptable SP odds range to be 3.00 to 5.90 inclusive, otherwise no lay.

How would I enter this in column R (Stake)?

Similarly, what if I had maximum acceptable odds, e.g. 5.90, but no minimum (or vice-versa)?

Thanks and regards
.
Craig

You cannot specify a range, Betfair do not allow you to do this.

When laying the odds column represent the maximum odds you want to lay at, you cannot specify a minimum.

When backing the odds column represents the minimum odds you want to back at, you cannot specify a maximum.

The stake column represents stake when backing and liability when laying.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
