Quick Pick list

Postby johnnic » Mon Jul 26, 2010 7:03 am

In testing a system, I am using a single Quick Pick list with all the current day's horse racing attached to it. I then set the Auto Select Market to Wait Until Scheduled Off Of Preceding Race (as I currently can't get Q2 to work - as per my earlier post).

That works well enough for what I want to do but it doesn't allow me to log my betting results in a separate worksheet as it (obviously) moves to a new market well before the previous market is settled.

As I understand it, the solution is to use a separate worksheet for each venue and set up a Pick List just for that venue's races. Coupled with a 15 minute delay in moving to a new market, I should then have enough time for BA to log the previous races outcome in a separate results worksheet I have established. Firstly, is this corrrect?

If so, is there an easy way to set up the Quick Pick lists such that each one refers to a specific venue? Or do I have to do it all manually?

Yes, that is correct. You can tick "Load different venues in separate tab pages" in quick pick preferences. After logging in a new tab page will be opened for each meeting with the quick pick list loaded for each meeting.

Thanks Gary, I knew there would be an obvious answer.

Do you have any thoughts on my earlier question about why I can't get Q2 to trigger a market change?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
