I overcame the problem but I'm not sure how..?

Postby aubweaver » Sun Sep 05, 2010 8:25 am

Thanks Gary, I actually sorted out the problem. I had originally set up the basic excel sheet about three months ago on an older windows laptop to test the system and all was good but the laptop was a bit unstable. My main laptop is a fairly new applemac which the software won't work on. So I replaced the hard drive in the apple with a 500gig unit, partitioned it and loaded in XP. Something must have happened when I transferred all the data across to the new system, I had also tweaked the excel spreadsheet for better outcomes. I tested it on the older lappy last night and it worked fine, so I reloaded it again and all was well. I'm still in the testing stage but $300.00 flowed my way last night so I'm reasonably happy with the set up so far.
A quick second question please. When I was loading all the UK/IRE racing in the quick picks area, it only had to meetings to the end of the day (my day in Australia) ie midnight. How do locate all the other meetings to simply load everything quickly, as later on I hope to be setting it up in the evening ready to go automatically. I ended up dragging and dropping every meeting individually where there's room for error.
Thanks again for your quick response.
Peter

Hi,

In preferences there is an option to display races which appear after midnight.

In the "Quick pick list / markets" tab untick "Only load today's events"

Can the race be loaded at the start of 'In Play'

Postby aubweaver » Mon Sep 06, 2010 3:41 am

Thanks Mark,
That made things easier, however I now have another question.
Can I set the race to load onto the excel sheet at the actual off?
ie when it turns to 'IN PLAY'. I'm presently getting bets I don't want where the odds movements are quite dramatic just before the start.
Thanks Peter :?

Hi,

There isn't an option for that.

If you only want bets only to be taken in play then you should add a further check into your criteria that tests the value in cell E2 which will show In Play.

Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
