Strange problem

Postby davez » Sun Nov 14, 2010 6:52 am

Hi, will try to explain this best I can -

Over the last 2 days I have had info from BA betting screen freezing on screen - that is if you hover the mouse over a horses name you get a popup window showing 'Jockey, Trainer, Owner' & so on.

Now my problem is that on occasion these popup windows are freezing on screen & the only way to bet rid of them is to close & restart BA. Restarting BA is not a pleasant option as I daily link up to 50 BA pages to individual excel worksheets & obviously I need to do this again for the remaining races when restarting BA.

This problem has only started since the last automatic update of BA & I have made no changes to my operating environment etc - If needed I can email through a screen shot of what I am talking about - please help as this is becoming very frustrating.

Cheers
Dave

I forgot to add that this seems to happen when closing a BA page.

Strange to you, but not to me! It was a bug introduced when I added the option to specify a delay before the popup is displayed. I have fixed it. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=30159

Please let me know if it happens again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I've added the link. It should auto update next time you open it so you may not need the link. Just check the version number.

No. Did it happen after you selected Excel|Log Current Prices? Another user reported this when using VPS.

I did selected Excel|Log Current Prices but it doesn't stopped
after 1 hour i was just placing a few bets manually & everything worked fine i think..
i log of from the server and 2 hours later i tried to log in.After several attempts, i saw that all bots were stopped and the clock was behind approx 40 minutes! Don't know why..

I have update BA & let you know

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
