Conditional Bets Query

Postby chaser » Sat Nov 20, 2010 9:44 am

Hi Gary / Mark
Having placed a Lay bet, I use the Conditonal Bets feature to place a Back bet as a 'stop loss'.
I select back price at <= at the odds I want the bet to be activated at and the stake I want to make.
'In-running' my back bet is triggered, but only a part of my stake is filled.
Should not the whole of my bet be taken, at different falling odds, as I have selected <=,until the whole of my stake is taken.
In the race in question, yesterday, the selection that I had layed was running well, and my conditional bet was triggered, but only to a fraction of my stake. The horse looked like winning and there was liquidity in the market at lower odds, but the rest of my stake was not placed.
Will the set-up not do what I am hoping it will do ?

<= only means trigger the bet if less than or equal to the odds specified in the "Check price" column and place it at the odds specified in the "Bet price" column. It does not guarantee to get your bet matched.

To give you more chance of getting matched you can specify an offset in the tick offset column. If you specify -10 ticks for example then it will place the bet at the odds in the bet price column less 10 ticks.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
