Trading Triggers

Postby Shaun » Fri Jan 07, 2011 6:54 pm

Just have a question about triggers, from what i have read the below trigger will put in a back bet if not taken will kill it after 10 seconds, if it is taken a lay bet 1 tick lower will be placed with a level profit but if that is not taken and the price goes up a sliding stop loss 2 ticks higher than the lay bet will fire to stop loss.

And if i wanted to green/Red the amount i will need to use the greening sheet that is on the forum.

You are right except that it is not requesting a sliding stop loss. It should be as follows. I have appended -SL to specify that the stop loss is sliding level loss.

BACK-TL1-F10-SL2-SL

Because you have already specified a level profit and level loss you won't need the greenup spreadsheet unless the odds moved quickly and your offset/stop loss bets get matched at better odds than requested.

That sounds good, i may still run the greenup sheet in case i trade out at a loss and the position improves and i can make profit or less loss.

If anyone else runs trading bots i would be interested in hearing how you minimise loss with out giving away your secrets.

Hi Shaun,
Stops, or more specifically as my stops have to "move", back bets once the price has come back down to hit the levels stipulated in the strategy. That and having the confidence to leave it to do what it has to do, once you're happy it's working as it should.

Kind Regards.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
