BA Terminated Unexpectedly

Postby throwmeadisc » Thu Jan 13, 2011 11:07 pm

Hi,

I manage two VPS servers and today [13th Jan] at around 13.30, BA terminated on both servers around the same time. It's really strange and I have never seen this before.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Both VPS's are with Serverchoice and I have contacted them to see if they can shed any light on the situation.

VPS1 is running BA 1.1.066x18
VPS2 is running BA 1.1.066x40

Cheers,

Al :?

In what way did they terminate? Did they close down with/without an error message or just stop updating?

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your responce.

Yeah, I just connected last night and BA wasn't running at all. Seems just to have shut down. I checked the servers event logs but couldn't see anything.

Cheers.

Al :)

I'm afraid I don't know what happened there. It is a bit of a coincidence that it happened on two different servers though, it does suggest something on the servers probably caused it. They didn't reboot to install Windows updates did they?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
