Log my bets to several "MyBets"-Sheets

Postby brecki » Tue Feb 15, 2011 1:28 pm

Hi Gary,

today it´s my birthday and I have big wish!

I already read in another topic, that it isn´t possible to log my bets from several worksheets of the same workbook to more than one "MyBets" sheet yet (or did you already published an update to do this?).

The only solution seems to create another workbook with another MyBets sheet. But I think that will kill of my pc as I want to do this 30 times so there would be 60 Excel workbooks active at the same time.

What I want to do is open a soccer Match Odds market, trigger a lay bet there when my parameters get matched and then place a Back bet in the Correct Score Market of the same game. Then I want to use your Greenup Excel Sheet to green both bets if a goal has been scored but that does only work for the lay bet on the MatchOdds Market as I can´t also activate "log my bets" for the correct score worksheet because then the lay and the back bet will be listed in "MyBets" and they override each other again and again. Besides your Green-up code only greens the last bet that has been matched so it is impossible to green both the lay and the back bet.

Now my wish to you: Is it possible to tell BA to log both bets in the same "MyBets" sheet without overriding each other and then calculate and green the lay bet on the MatchOdds Market and the Back Bet on the CorrectScore market?

Or if that isn´t possible or is just too complicated, is there a chance to make BA able to log bets to other sheets than MyBets? It could be all very easy if there is a function to name the sheet the bets should be logged to. Regarding the Result Sheet it is already possible to name the sheet, so could you copy this function to "log my bets" and release this update soon?

Thank you for your help, even if it is not possible.
Hoping to hear from you

Greetings Brecki

Happy birthday. Your wish is granted :D

I'm not sure what thread you read that said it wasn't possible. It is possible to log multiple MyBets worksheets in the same workbook and has been for some time. It's also mentioned in the user guide.

Just prefix the MyBets worksheet with the worksheet name of the prices worksheet followed by underscore "_". If you have match odds logged to Sheet1 and correct score logged to Sheet2 for example name the MyBets worksheets Sheet1_MyBets and Sheet2_MyBets

I have got another question.

Using your Green-up sample sheet, I renamed the MyBets sheet to sheet1_MyBets and extended the workbook by sheet2 and sheet2_MyBets.

Triggering a bet in sheet1 Excel automatically calculates the greenup stake and command and that works fine, but of course there is no calculation in sheet2 if I trigger another bet there.

The question now is how to tell Excel to also calculate the greenup parameters in sheet2?

The problem seems to be this line in the calculateGreenUpStakes macro:

Set trigRange = Worksheets("Sheet1").Cells

as it only works with sheet1 and sheet2 is not included.

I tried to replace ("Sheet1") by (Tabelle) and defined Tabelle = ActiveSheet.Name

The result is that Excel now calculates in both sheets but unfortunately the calculations appear and disappear again and again. Sure you can´t work with this as if in the moment, the greening bet parameters should be kopied to trigger the freening bet, the cells could be empty.

Do you have any idea how to change the macro so that both sheets (or even more if extension is required) calculate simultaniously without showing the related cells empty at anytime?

fantastic !

I think this sheet will also be interesting for other users so a sample sheet is a very good idea.

Thank you !

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
