New to gruss

Postby stumez7 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 3:28 pm

Hello,

I've heard about gruss through the formbet website, i took up the offer of a months trial but never got to use it as i couldn't work out how to use the excel drop down despite watching walk thru videos on the formbet website.

My problem is when i go to the excel tab, then log current prices, i find my excel sheet i want to use for the days racing but when i open and then go to use the drop down tabs for workbook name and worksheet name they have no options. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this problem?

I'm not sure what the problem is. When you say "I find my excel sheet" do you mean you are using the browse button to open the spreadsheet?

Try upgrading the Beta version. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=5862 fpr download link.

If you still have problems with the Beta version then please send the log files detailed here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=3085

Since you say you haven't used it I'm going to take you at your word and have reset your trial.

thank you Gary. Right i have re installed gruss using your link but i'm still having the same problem. When i go to open a workbook i want to use by using the browse button, i can find it but when i click open nothing actually happens. I spoke with Dave from the formbet site and he said it was new to him and directed me to here to see if anyone else was having similar problems.

I have received the log file thank you. It suggests that there is something wrong with the Microsoft Office installation. What version of Office are you using? If it's 2010 you might have the "click to run" version installed. BA cannot communicate with this version. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... e&start=21

If it's not Office 2010 then first try rebooting your PC. If this doesn't help then try re-installing Office.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
