Lay 1.01 back 1.02

Postby meldge » Fri Apr 15, 2011 2:34 pm

Hi everyone

I'm a bit confused but what I need to do is quite simple I think.

I want to lay tennis players when they reach 1.01 and then back when they bounce to 1.02 which they seem to 70% of the time (based on 500 matches on Fracsoft). If there's no luck I will leave at 1.01 and accept a small loss.

I assume I use the tick offset or stop loss & fill or kill?

I'm thinking of doing £100 stakes to start with and then £1000 later if it works. I'm a bit worried about where I'm going to be in the queue also I only need to offset what has already been filled but happy to leave the balance up for later back fills if need be.

If it could be saved for all matches as a filter that would be great also as I would like to leave it all day whilst I'm out.

I'm new to BA so appologise if I'm being silly here.

Many thanks

Alastair

It's not stop loss you need, just tick offset. Have you read the user guide? See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm and read about tick offset under "Betting Options".

Basically you just need to place a lay bet at 1.01 with a 1 tick offset set before you place the lay bet. You then need to make sure you don't close or change the market on that tab page otherwise it will not monitor the market and place the offset bet when the lay bet is matched. As soon as any part of your bet is matched it will place a back bet for the matched stake. If it's partially matched it will just place the matched portion and if more is matched later it will place another back bet for the remainder and so on until it is fully matched.

You will need to open a separate tab page in BA for each market, set the tick offset options, place the lay bet and leave the tab page open (see "multiple markets" in the user guide).

Hi

I'm having real problems getting filled at 1.02 after 1.01's even though business has been done at 1.02 quite clearly on the chart. I think it makes more sense to place the offset at say 1.05 where there is less money waiting and take bigger wins but more occasionally.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
