Can I use 2 different spreadsheets at the same time

Postby crocogotter » Thu Apr 28, 2011 11:23 am

Newbie question I'm afraid  , but is it possible to set up 2 tabs each linked to a different spreadsheet as I have 2 different systems I'm trialling and they involve different criteria and placing bets at different times. I'm happy enough sorting out a spreadsheet for each individually, but trying to combine the 2 systems onto one spreadsheet is proving somewhat difficult, so I wondered if it's possible for 2 tabs to work completely independently (eg each with a different race loaded at the same time, and linked to a different spreadsheet).

Long question, hopefully a short answer  .

Many thanks in advance.

Yes, it's possible. The easiest way is to initially have both spreadsheets closed then on each tab page in BA choose to log to Excel and when the options popup appears press the browse button to navigate to and open the spreadsheet.

Thanks Gary, both for the speedy reply and the answer I wanted to hear :)

One further, completely unrelated question, is it possible to run BA on 2 different computers (an either/or situation rather than both at the same time); I would usually use my desktop but when away from home would want to use a laptop.

Yes, the BA licence is for a betfair account so as long as you're using the same betfair username it doesn't matter how many PC's you use the program on, just have to be aware of data charges etc if using it on more than one PC simultaneously.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
