EVENT_RECONCILED ?

Postby honest guv » Sat Jul 30, 2011 1:08 am

Hi,

I've had an error message - EVENT_RECONCILED - several times over the last couple of days, when placing bets through Excel.

These are all placed about 5 seconds before the official off time in UK or Ire horse racing, on win markets.
Bets are being placed without error in races before and after the ones where I'm getting the error.
Anyone got any ideas on what may be causing it?

e.g. from the BA Diagnostics log - 17:09:56:552: placeBets error, ref: 0,selection id:2657314, result code:EVENT_RECONCILED

Thanks,
Guv

This message is generated by the API. The following description is from Betfair's API guide. I am sure BA couldn't generate this message unless it actually was returned from the API.
The market has already been reconciled and you attempted to place an SP bet.

Are you using BACKSP or LAYSP? If so could it be that your PC's time isn't exactly right so that if the race starts on time then you are actually trying to place bets just after the off?

Thanks Gary.

Yes, my PC time was a few seconds off, so I guess this must have been causing it when races went off exactly on time. Haven't had the error for the last few days.
So, just so I understand, the time (cell c2) and time to off (d2) are based on pc clock time rather than server time?

thanks

That's correct.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
