Excel link not working

Postby Terryc » Sat Aug 13, 2011 5:31 pm

I have been running Excel placing bets for sometime successfully.

Today for some reason it has stopped working although I have made no changes.

The message I get in the Excel Error log is

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException 0x800AC472......

Help.

Have you tried rebooting in case it's an Excel glitch?

Also I think you are using the Beta version. Some users have had problems because I updated the COM interface in the latest release today. This shouldn't affect the Excel feature unless you are also using the COM interface, but it wouldn't hurt to uninstall and re-install from the following link to see if it helps.

Try the re-install option first. It's still possible to restart a VPS as far as I know.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Gruss to Beta version.

The prgram shows the Beta (top bar) when loading but when I log in the beta no longer shows (is this still the beta version?).

Still showing error messages on the error log (but no idea if it has always done that because I've never looked at it before).

Will have to wait for a suitable race before I know whether it is placing bets or not.

It's still the Beta. Can you see cell C2 updating on each refresh? If it is then the link is working. The odd error message in the log is normal.

Yes, the C2 cell is updating with the time each second. But as far as I know it was doing that before.

I will let you know if it manages to successfully place any bets later.

Thanks for v.quick responses.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
