BACK-SP in case of NR

Postby wema9247 » Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:11 pm

Hi,

I would like to know what happens if I place a bet which if not matched should be converted into a SP bet (LAY-SP/BACK-SP) if there is a nonrunner after the bet is placed.
Suppose I'm trying to back @10 and if not matched I would take the SP. Will my bet @10 stay or will it be modified due to reduction factor or even cancelled?
And what if I place a LAY-SP bet? If not matched would the liabilty at SP stay the same in case of NR or will it be adjusted?

Thanks for your help!!!

If your bet is matched after the withdraw then you will get full odds/price matched with no reduction. The reduction factor is only applied AFTER a bet has been matched and a horse is subsequently withdrawn.

If your bet is not matched through BA/Betfair and you take SP when the race goes inplay then I think the only scenario where the reduction factor could apply is if a horse refuses to run from the stalls. This scenario is very rare and is not set in stone how matched bets are handled by Betfair.

Also, dead heats will affect your profit for both back & lay bets

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
