EXPOSURE_OR_AVAILABLE_BALANCE_EXCEEDED

Postby xraymitch » Sat Nov 12, 2011 3:08 pm

Hi folks,

Any suggestions on how I can stagger the bets to avoid getting the exposure error when I don't have sufficent funds to cover the simultaneous placing of bets.

Cheers, 8)

I am looking into adding an option to specify how many can be placed in a batch. You could then set the batch size to 1 to avoid simultaneous bets. Please leave it with me for a few days.

The next release (version 1.1.0.66x83) includes a new option in the Excel options form. I'm not releasing it as an auto update just yet, but you can install manually from the link below to try it out.

I am a bit confused as to the use of this option, can you explain why and when i would need to use this.

For example your balance is £3 and the batch size is set to the default 5. Two back bets for £0.50 each are triggered at the same time. This will fail because it will initially try to place 2 x £2 back bets at 1000. At this point the exposure would be £4 and will be £5 in the next step. If the batch size is set to 1 it solves this problem because it will process the bets one at a time so the highest exposure is only £2.50. This is only an issue with below minimum stake bets.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
