Layfield API Error

Postby dealbanker » Mon Dec 05, 2011 6:54 am

Hello Gary or any one else that can help with this these two items

1
I have created a LAYFIED in running excel formula and it triggered as and when it should. However the bet reference displayed an Unknown_Error.

On checking the error log, under API Response column it states the same - `Unknown Error'. I don't expect anyone to be able to tell me exactly what may be the problem, just perhaps some ideas on what to look for that may be causing the problem.

2
I have noticed the refresh rate/datacall meter on BA (not excel) showing anything from 10-98. (Current setting is .2 and throttled at 15). Is this the actual call rate or is it a percentage? If it is the actual call rate is there something I can do about it?

Thanks for any advice

1. Unknown error usually means a complete API failure so maybe the API was down at the time. Is this the first time you tried LAYFIELD or has it worked before?

2. This figure is not a percentage. Are you referring to the figure next to "Actual refresh" in brackets? If you are then that is the response time for data request in milliseconds. It's the first figure that shows the refresh rate and should be around 200ms when the rate is set to 0.2

Layfield API Error

Thanks for the quick response Gary

1
This is my first use of BA and that was the fist time had used a trigger formula and first time it fired. I will take it that it was just an inopportune moment for the BF API

2
I was referring to the Actual Refresh (top right hand corner)... a relief to know it is a timer and not a call meter.

Thank you

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
