Sorry if this is a stupid question but does the green button actually place a bet or is it just for information purposes only.
best regards, Paul

It places a bet. It shows you the expected profit/loss after you click it. Try it with a small stake and you will see.

Just a guess as to what happened.

You laid the horse, waited for the odds to drift then backed it. Then you used the green button.

As I understand it, with trading mode ticked the green button only greens up the last bet made, so a bet would have been placed to green up the back bet only, leaving you with the initial lay un-greened.

If you want to place a series of bets then green up after, you need to have trading mode unticked (I think).

I hope that makes sense and I'm not talking utter rubbish :)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the greening up function Chris :?

Wanted to say to Gary though (if the reassurance helps) that i'm finding it an absolute boon just lately! :)

I trade mainly on soccer these days btw.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
