wait until preceding race on aus markets bug?

Postby plake » Sat Dec 17, 2011 3:26 am

Saturday australian markets
All clocks correct
Auto Select markets set to - wait until scheduled off of preceding race
Markets loaded into quickpick list before the start of the first race of the day

the start of racing at one track is set back 10 minutes because ambulance doesnt arrive but quickpick list shows race book start times

Race book race time of the race arrives and quick pick list does not advance to next race and does not advance until the race is actually run at the new scheduled time

Open a new copy of BA and reloaded the quickpick list and noticed that the race times in the quick picklist now reflect the official changed times for that race

Does this mean BA is not using the times loaded in the quickpick list so advances whether or not the race actually starts but whatever the current betfair race start times list is that is updated with whatever times the stewards give when they officially reschedule a race start time.

have only seem this on AU racing

have before and after screen shots if you want to see them

Had the market tree been refreshed? What could possibly have happened is that the market tree was refreshed and displaying the new times after the quick pick list had been populated. The quick pick list should also display the new times, but only if it had cause to redraw that area of the screen. It's a big of a longshot, but if you refreshed the market tree and then did not have cause to do anything that would redraw the quick pick list (eg. scroll it) then it could account for this.

I cannot think of any other way the program could be aware of the new times.

I don't usually touch BA once its loaded for the day - runs from excel with no intervention. The BA screen would have been covered by other program windows but donr remember scrolling the QPL

Races went back to scheduled times so i didnt touch it.

I only noticed because I opened a new copy of BA and loaded in the quickpick list and noticed the race had the new time.

From memory Betfair in australia didn't used to change race start times from the race book time once the days racing had started - the market just didnt go inplay until the race went inplay

Now they seem to change the race start time if the stewards adjust the scheduled race start time.

Is it because when you select a race in the list BA gets the market from Betfair and also the race start time that Betfair has and then uses that . So even if the QPL had been updated BA would have stayed on that race and ignored the ones that jumped between the old time and the new start time

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
