multiple bets

Hi everyone could anyone help me with this problem please. I am doing some trading. In my if statement I am able to clear the bet reference and back the same horse or football team again but I only want to trade the horse or footballl team twice e.g. BACK Horse A trade out clear the reference then Back Horse A trade out and stop. How can I put this in an if statment?
