CANCEL-ALL-KO

Postby gizzard » Sun Dec 09, 2012 6:44 am

I want to use this trigger to cancel all bets but keep all offsets, regardless of whether they are Lay or Back. It doesn't seem to work unless you specify CANCEL-ALL-BACK-KO OR CANCEL-ALL-LAY-KO.

Can anyone confirm whether CANCEL-ALL-KO is possible?

I think you may have misunderstood the purpose of -KO. Without -KO the cancel triggers cancel the processing of offset bets.

For example you use CANCEL when the original bet has not been matched. When Betfair process the cancellation part of the bet has just been matched so the remainder gets cancelled. In this case no offset bet will be placed for the matched portion. CANCEL-KO would allow an offset bet for the matched portion.

CANCEL-ALL-KO will cancel all unmatched bets regardless of whether they are offset bets or not. It just means that if the original bets are part matched during the cancellation the offset bets will be placed.

I think that's what I understood.

However, I had a Lay bet today that was placed using the trigger "LAY-TL1-SL1-L-SPC" and it was fully matched. There was an offset bet placed but that was then cancelled when I used "CANCEL-ALL-KO". Unfortunately I don't have the log any more as I have closed BA since then.

Could this be possible?

I think this is more like a specific issue. Is creating a support ticket also possible here?

Sorry, we don't have a support ticketing system on here, but this forum is provided to report issues.

That's how it is intended to work. That behaviour agrees with my explanation in my previous post.

gizzard,

I've had this type of problem and it took ages to figure out. Hope I can explain.....

Offsets will only exist where the original bet was matched so you need a trigger condition that will fire against matched bets only, the KO part then respects the offsets against those selections. If you have a trigger including CANCEL-ALL-KO copied across all selections coupled with a trigger condition that can apply to all selections then the CANCEL-ALL part of the command will cross-cancel everything including offsets on other selections. (I think this is how it works anyway).

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
