Multiple tabs & Excel questions

Postby osknows » Tue Mar 26, 2013 12:40 pm

Hi Gary,

I've been experimenting with my BA and Excel setup and hoped you could help me with the following technical questions regarding 'lots' of duplicate tabs?

1. If I open multiple tabs in BA and link to Excel so that all tabs/sheets contain the same market; if bets are placed on the same runner at the same time across all sheets how are the bets actually placed through BA? Do they go together making it possible to place multiple bets on the same runner in the same refresh or are they spread out over a number of refreshes?

2a. Bets - Again if BA/Excel has multiple tabs/sheets all with the same market. If it takes longer than 1 refresh rate to update all remaining sheets how does BA process this? Eg does it complete the update of ALL sheets first, then read the sheets for any bets, then place the bets in that order.... or if a bet appears before all sheets have finished updating will bet placement get priority overriding the update of any remaining sheets?

2b. Prices - What happens if BA refreshes the market prices before it was able to update all Excel sheets from the previous refresh? Eg does it complete updating all sheets for every refresh or will it override non-updated sheets with the newer prices?

3. Does the ba.COM placebets allow an array of bets to be placed on the same runner?

Sorry for so many questions
Thanks
Os

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
