Monitoring all 3pm football matches simultaneously via Excel

Postby jonboysez » Fri Apr 12, 2013 12:11 pm

Hi, I've used Excel extensively in the past to monitor horse races starting one after another using the auto-select function and the quick-pick list, but now I'd like to be able to monitor football matches all starting at the same time, but say from 9am Sat morning up until kick off at 3pm and if the correct situation arises in the betting it will trigger my programmed bets. It obviously cant load them into my excel spreadsheet all at the same time, so how could I do this? I could obviously monitor the markets manually looking for my betting opportunity, but I'd like to automate it if possible. I am aware that you can open multiple tabs for multiple markets and I would want to monitor 2 different markets at the same time. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

That is the solution to use multiple tab pages each with a separate football match linked to different worksheets which can be in the same workbook.

Regards,

Mmm not sure I understand how BA links to the excel spreadsheets?? - from my previous experience from automating horse races, auto-select would move down the quick-pick list, filling the main screen with each successive race at the time I had instructed it to do so, and the data would overwrite the previous race on the excel spreadsheet. Does that mean the spreadsheet can only be populated with the single race/match that is showing on the screen at the time? Obviously I can't have all the matches in the Premiership open at the same time. I am aware of the "coupon view" listing but that only shows the match odds market - I was wanting to compare correct scores market to under/over market at the same time. Also would I have to load up each market individually in the morning to link them to my spreadsheet? Sorry if I am asking something completely barmy!

OOPS - think I understand now - I can open a new market for each match and load it onto the screen, then link it to my spreadsheet(s).

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
