Gary where I am going wrong with this trigger

Postby xraymitch » Wed Apr 17, 2013 8:36 am

Hi Gary,

Thought this was a simple trigger to set up yet I cannot get it to work properly - so I must be doing something wrong.

I am doing a tick offset lay bet. If at the off cell y5 contains BACK then the back bet has not been filled. All I want to do is cancel the offset bet and place a back bet.

The trigger below works but does not cancell the back bet. I have tried various options with no success.

Any help as always is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Code: Select all
=IF(AND($E$2="In Play",$F$2="",$T5="",$Y5="BACK"),"BACK",IF(AND($E$2="In Play",$F$2="",$Y5="BACK"),"CLEAR",IF(AND($E$2="Not In Play",$F$2="",$H5<=50,$H5>=10,$AF5=1),"LAY-TL1-IPC","")))

IPC places the offset as a keep in play bet and the original bet as cancel at off. If you remove -IPC then both bets will be cancelled at the off if not matched or do want the lay bet to be kept in play?

Thanks for taking time out to reply. Much appreciated.

Perhaps I did not make myself clear. If only the LAY part of the tick offset bet is matched and at the off I still have the BACK bet waiting to be matched then all I want to do is cancel the existing offset bet and place a back bet at whatever price is current

The trigger below works and will place a BACK bet because the BET REFERENCE column has been CLEARED, but then I am still left with the tick offset bet. I have tried various options with no success, I guess I will have to look at rewriting the trigger.

I am just frustrated with my inability to create what should be a straightforward trigger. If you have a moment please point me in the right direction or amend trigger accordingly.

Thanks as always.

hI xRAY - don't know if this is any help but I noticed it whilst checking out the CHASE function

14. Added “–KO” (keep offset) modifier for Excel CANCEL and CANCEL-ALL triggers. Without this modifier any outstanding tick offset or stop losses will be cancelled prior to the cancel request, ie. you can use the cancel triggers to prevent them from being processed. “-KO” will prevent them being cancelled so if your original bet is matched just before Betfair cancel the bet the tick offset bet will still be placed.

Hi,

Thanks for that info but does not solve the problem.

Have spent 40 hours on making a mountain out of what really should only have been a molehill. Dug myself into a quagmire trying to use VBA, I need a break so am walking away for now and will come back and start again with a clean sheet.

Cheers,

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
