New PC

Postby excelhasey » Sat Mar 29, 2014 4:05 pm

As I have just got a new pc can I simply download another copy of BA to this machine ??

I assume you can only log in on one machine at a time (which is fine)

When I try to download it asks me for all my details is BA clever enough to realise I am downloading to another pc ??

You can login multiple computers at a time, even to the same betfair account.

Each vendor has a separate vendorSoftwareId and they manage any subscriptions directly with Betfair, you won't log into any Gruss servers as far as I'm aware, it's all done via the Betfair API.

So when you log into the API using BA, Betfair receive the vendors ID and your Betfair login details and can see if Gruss have permissioned you to use that vendor ID. If you're not permissioned or your subs have ended an API error code gets returned to the program and it's then down to however Gary's coded the program to handle the error i.e. Show a message saying subs have ended etc.

So as long as you have permission to use the BA vendorID you can login via as many PC's as you wish for that permissioned account.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
