CANCEL

Postby zemedelec » Fri Aug 29, 2014 12:52 pm

Hello all,

I need your help. I d like to know, if I place a BACK bet with tick profit trigger and then only part of the stake is matched, then I guess relevant part is also used for tick profit bet. But what if I use CANCEL trigger after part of first BACK is matched? what will be cancelled? only remaining part of original bet? or also the tick profit part?

Thank you for help, I hope my question is clear.

Hi,

If you are using CANCEL trigger then it will cancel the bet that relates to the bet reference that is in the bet ref column which will not be your offset bet, it will be your original bet.
If you have a partial match then the bet ref gets P appended to it so you know there is a partial match.
If you plan to do this then you should use CANCEL-KO in case more of the original bet is matched before the cancel gets issued.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,

thank you for fast reply. I think I understand, but please help me with this example to be sure:

If I place a back bet of 10eur before inplay at odds 4. Later inplay, 5 eur is matched at 4 and tick offset is placed. Now, I trigger CANCEL-KO. So only remaining 5E bet will be cancelled and tick offset will remain?

Thanks.

OK, thanks Mark.

May I have last question?

I place LAY bet with tick offset, it is matched before market goes inplay.
Then I use CLEAR (bet ref is empty).
When market goes inplay, I want to CANCEL tick offset after some time.
So I trigger CANCEL-ALL and then I close the position "manually.
Unfortunatelly, this tick offset stay there a it is matched when the price reach it.

How can I cancel this tick offset?

Thank you!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
