Reversing odds

Postby misterzim » Sun Sep 18, 2016 3:48 pm

Hi, I just downloaded the Gruss Software Betting Assistant to trial it out. Having had a good look around I haven't been able to locate how you reverse the odds in the ladder?

I have the ladder reversed so that the back bet's on the left and the lay is on the right but I don't want to offer in to the market so my question is: how do I get the back odds low and the lay odds high? On other software the standard ladder is how I like it and you have to change it if you want an alternate view but Gruss automatically does the opposite?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just go Options->Preferences for the ladder or grid and tick the box for 'reverse bets by default' or 'reverse ladder'

I've done each of those and it still won't sort as I would like it. I'm now guessing you can't have the standard format on the ladder, only on the grid?

Not too sure what yoou're trying to do ? If you want the lay bets to be on the left or right side on the ladder you just go to options->preferences->ladder interface and click or unclick the Reverse ladder tick box, then close and reopen the ladder so it'll show the new setting. With the ladder you just click the lay box or back box either side of the odds to place a bet. Or are you looking for the odds to be reversed such as

6.6
6.8
7
7.2
7.4
7.6

Yes, I'd like to reverse the odds but preferably high to low (top to bottom) and take a price rather than offer a price, or at least have the option to use both settings on the ladder. The grid default has it this way as you would normally see on Betfair.

I know most people seem to prefer the reverse to me but that's just the way I like it.

Still not too clear what you need, with the ladder you just click either side of the odds to lay or back so the whole range of odds is available to back or lay at any odds you want unlike the grid. And you can switch between the back or lay on whichever side suits you.

Here's the same ladder with just the sides switched, to lay I just click the pink box next to the odds and to back I just click the blue box at whatever odds I want, odds descend from high to low.

Back odds lower than the lay odds as this screenshot of "competitors" software shows.

As my post has been edited for obvious reasons, I don't know how to better explain what I'm asking than I already have?

Thanks. It's not a huge issue for me, just the way I prefer my setup!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
