Why doesn't the stop loss work?

Postby GaryRussell » Wed Nov 25, 2009 8:59 am

1) You set the stop loss settings after placing the bets. The settings only apply to bets placed after the settings have been entered.

2) You switched to a different market after placing the bets or switched to a different market and switched back. This does not apply to switching between tabs, only switching markets on the same tab.

3) The initial bet is a back bet and the odds went straight up to more than double the odds. The program will not place the lay bet to avoid you having too large a liability. The exception is if you ticked ‘Level loss’ in which case there is no limit on the lay odds.

4) The stop loss bet was placed, but did not get matched because the market was moving quickly. You can check the transaction log under the account menu to see if the stop loss bet was triggered.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
