Apple Pie. There is one problem I am aware of. The program does not release the Excel object properly so if you had closed Excel and re-opened it the program may be connected to the closed program which is still running. You can close Excel, open the task manager and end all Excel.exe processes and then re-open Excel. See if this solves the problem. If not I am stumped as I cannot see why it would work one day and then stop working. I will be fixing this problem in a future release.

Can anyone tell me why you cant access all the markets. Noticed it on womens football last week and again tonight on the Notts/Leicestershire match. I open the 20/20 2005 market but it only gives me the regional winners.

Layit..Ive been using your program now for quite a while and its certainly a big help to me.
If at all possible can you add a function for betting in staggered amounts?
To explain this say i want to back horse A for £200 but want to take 5.0 5.5 6.0 and 6.5 in £50 increments,is this programmable.
Suppose the program allowed to lay for £200 in increments of 10 ticks from whatever starting point you chose ,would this be a way of doing it?
So it would ask for initial price..say 2.0 ask how much you want to lay in all ..say £200 then ask for what stagger..say 10 ticks then lay £20 at 2.0 £20 at 1.9 £20 at 1.8 £20 at 1.7 and so on.

This would be a great feature for inrunning layers especially those that like laying short odds.

layit thanx 4 the software.

used it for the first time today. one a few quid, lost a few quid then made up towards the end.

Had a bet on johannson tennis match was accepted at the time. and came on the bet manager as so. when I checked when the game finished there was a black bar on betting manager with message telling me bet had been cancelled. checked with betfair and they said yeah bet cancelled about 10 secs after being placed. I do know as I was keeping an eye on the markets that this bet was on my betmanager as being valid for quite some time after i placed it. So I am puzzled how it could show as being cancelled?

I was wondering if anyone else had a problem like this before or on this particular market today.

being new to this how do I know how to read the figures so that I know when to back and when to lay. The figures on WOM for example how do you read them

thanx again for a great piece of kit

I've been looking at a variation of WOM (aka. POM) in a range of 0->1.0 and I can't see that it does much to predict anything. You're usually supposed to tell from this indicator where the money is coming or going. Sounds a bit vague. Basically this is the ratio of unmatched stakes on the lay side and on the back side, there's nothing more to it than that.

Add the 3 stakes up on the back side = B
Add the 3 stakes up on the lay side = L

POM = B/ L

To further obtain a range of 0->1.00 you could adopt the following (using the POM from above):-

If POM > 1 Then
POM = - (1 / POM)
End If
POM = (POM / 2) + 0.5

when I tried to put a bet on with BT I got an error message saying an unhandled exception has occurred in your application if you click continue the appliication will ignore the error and attempt to continue when I did this the app closed down.

I use BT Yahoo explorer anyone had sim problem. Also can you tell me how to rid the lay and back odds boxes of 1.01 and 1000. Everytime i open a new page they appear.

Question about betfair itself. How do I know when the market is gonna be in running.

e.g. Had a bet on today at Newmarket race 6.05pm. Checked column on BF homepage and saw that there was a race currently in running at the curragh 6.00pm but the races below that were all for the next day. Have I missed something.

thanx in advance

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
