Hi LayIt,

I am trying to write my own program similar to yours & I've found that your program seems to be faster at placing bets.

Mine has a response time from the server of about 600 to 700ms whereas yours is more like 400 to 500 ms (on my connection). This is very noticable when placing bets.

I have used a http packet sniffer program to look at the packets from your program but I can't work out the difference - well mine has some extra header info but were still using the same server!

I understand if you don't want to say, but do you mind telling me your secret???

Cheers,
Chris

Zunk,
I read sometime earlier in this post that it will only work in Pounds Sterling. He is working on the reason why it doesn't work for other currencies I believe.
Where abouts in Sweden are you? I've been there a lot and really like it there.

A facility where you could set 'high/low' odds and the program automatically (or at the click of a button) lays your pre-determined stake at a low race and sells back at the higher rate. Too much to ask? Maybe, but if you don't ask you don't get <img border="0" src="images/emoticons/wink.gif" alt="">

Good program, but would prefer bet manager down the side like betfair. That would free up room to enlarge the names, and the need to scroll in big fields, but i aint complaining, layit has done a great job.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
