Good stuff and I am starting to get into this trigger betting malarkie. More questions (probably asked way back in this thread already)

I can now trigger my back and lays as I want them. Is there a clear function in Excel (or another way) to remove the bet references so that the trigger can be activated again and new back/lays presented. At the moment I am doing this manually, but I'm sure there must be a function to do this for me.

latty. The alt back column was requested by someone who bets in running. It will back the selection at the current back odds on offer at a predefined stake which is different to your preferred stake. The stake is set in preferences.

Hi Guys, Wonder if you could help me I am testing the TRIGGER BETTING functionality in this program (which is excellent by the way!!!). I want to know if someone could help me with an excel question........

I want to back a selection when it hits a certain price basically using the :-

=+IF(F5<=1.5,"BACK","") as described earlier.

However, once I have struck the bet I do not want to execute the trigger for any of the other runners. I have tried setting a count e.g. =COUNTIF(N:N,"BACK") which works fine and then saying

=+IF(AND(<count cell>=0,F5<=1.5),"BACK","") so only BACK if Count is = 0 (i.e. no other Backs) but I get all sorts of Circular reference errors in Excel.

Anyone got any ideas...any help would be appreciated....and PLEASE PLEASE keep up the FANTASTIC work LAYIT I think this program is QUALITY!!!

Cheers
Toma

Sorry just seen your other reply "BACK"......I don't think this will work as there are no other bets to cancel its not like I am backing the Field at 1.5 I am only backing the first horse that gets to 1.5.

Sorry hope that makes sense...its getting late!

Toma ... could you change the formula to look for non blanks in col Q as this will go to "pending" when the first bet is submitted ?. Something like this ....

=IF(AND(COUNTA($Q$5:$Q$50)=0,F5<=1.5),"BACK","")

Toma , Ians version is much better as it'd log the bet being placed. If the odds swell out on your original back the cell value would change from BACK as it no longer fits the criteria to put BACK in the cell at least the bet ref or bet time cells would stay static when a bet has been submitted. Just use =COUNTA(Q5:Q50) as your bet count. I'd also amend your bet submission criteria from

=+IF(F5<=1.5,"BACK","")

because when the market first goes inplay the only available offers will most likely be under 1.5. Just add a few more criterias to be sure thats a true lay price

Something like
=+IF(AND(F5<1.51,H5<1.7,F5>1.4), "BACK","")

would kick off when the lay odds are between 1.5 and 1.4 plus others are willing to bet below 1.7

Yes I see what you mean now. The above formula look as if they will do the job for you mate.

Here is another one.

Using the similar but more dynamic criteria (not in a horse race, where prices move too quickly) I want to put my back/lay bet in and it gets presented but not taken. The market moves away from the the prices and I want to use the "clear" function and be able to present my back/lay bets to reflect the current market prices. Come to think of it I would need a similar fix for when the the trades are filled as I would want to clear the cells and place fresh trades as the market progressed to a conclusion.

Anyone up for this one? <img border="0" src="images/emoticons/happy.gif" alt="">

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
