Layit, could you explain please what now happens when a race is still In Play when the next race is due to auto select?

Also, could you stop adding so many functions, you are making my own excel programming redundant and removing any edge I may have

Gaseous, add markets to quick pick list and tick Auto Select markets, then each market will be monitored in turn automatically.

Guys, Still experiencing "ERROR" when I try to Lay a horse but I know why. I calculate the Odds (and Layit has corrected my prob of yesterday with Betfair Comp Odds...Cheers mate), but now what is happening is I am trying to LAY the selection before the ODDS Col has been populated with the price I want to put the order in at.

Is there anyway that I can delay the LAY in N Col until the O Col has been populated with the odds?

Or if it is easier can I clear the ERROR if it EVER appears in the Q Col (maybe a Macro) as that would satisfy my requirement also!

Any help greatly appreciated....cheers Fellas

To give a bit more detail, I'm using office XP and now I'm in Germany using a German language computer dunno if that will effect the comma for decimal thing. But under the odds I have put 1.01 and not 1,01. When I was trying this in the UK it worked fine. Betfair Trader shows that there was an excel triggered bet. Any ideas?

mmm...not sure Bridgers sounds like the 1,01 may be the problem especially as it works in the UK? My BACK side is ok it's just my LAY that i'm having trouble with I think our mate IanP may hold the answer for us with a whizz MACRO that will just delete the contents of the cell if ERROR appears in the Q col?

Then my bet is executed and everything works fine!!

Dunno about the 1.01 thing I have put 1.01 into the odds column and not 1,01. The program registers that an excel command has been sent. will try turning off norton etc to see if that helps

Hi IanP,

I have tried that but it attempts to do the LAY before the ODDS Calculation has been done so the condition isn't met therefore it doesn't LAY ?

The problem I have had today is that using the excel statement

=IF($E$2="In Play",IF($F$2<>"Suspended","LAYFIELD",""),"CLEAR")

then when the market goes inplay a tigger is sent but trader shows
last action: Backed field @odds:1000 stake :5

even though the odds and stake on the excel sheet are 1.01 100
once placed the bet ref shows as PENDING and does not change
also no bets are registered with betfair.

Do I have the formula wrong?

Down the Drain I've had problems in the past trying to kick off when the market goes in play may be worth you amending the refresh rate to 2 seconds.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
