Chances are you are very honest, however it would be possible for someone unscrupulous to gain 100s of logins and passwords, then one day in the future empty the lot, and disapear.

Like many say on this forum, nothing is for free, so when people see free in the title it makes one wonder.

When people mention this they are not attacking you personally, however tex is right, many of us only survive on here by being very wary, cant fault people for being very careful

I expect a series of stupid bets could be made but that would be immediately obvious and not to layits advantage. On the net some trust is necessary .You could argue that Betfair would find it easiier to take the money and run. I"ll go along with Layit. If you have your doubts just stay away.

Then quickly withdraw winnings and dissapear.

Hello Layit, I tend to play mostly in-running. Is there any way, using your software, that I can just lay one horse at a price and stake that I select pre-race?

Lippy, to do that the 1.01 would have to be the only available price as matches are made at best price. As betfair requires bank details and other proofs of identity it would have to be a worthwhile fraud ,and you would have to flee pretty fast. Anyway you would not get your money in time, and your bet might lose.

Totally agree with layit on the password issue. All the commercial programs need the password to access betfair although i can see people with large amounts onsite being nervous. Changing password regularly is good idea.

Senlac - WOM only uses visible money because thats whats going to move the market. You could place vast amounts lay or back at silly odds, which you know will never be matched, in order to manipulate the market if all monies were taken into account. Autobet is the same, presumably xbot too.

I can't believe the fuss that some are making about passwords. I would think your finance details are at far greater risk when you pay by credit card in the local curry house!

Hi layit

Nice piece of FREE software, ignor the banter about passwords, and keep up the good work

The WOM is a good addition, a usefull assett would be that it flashed or changed to a brighter shade if the 3 values were above £1000, giving credence to the tilt expressed.

Typing your password into Layits software is no worse than installing and running any third-party software - they could all expose back doors / key logging, or not.

The reason for that Serpico is that he is offering the program for free. It's a bit sad I think that this should cause people to doubt but that's the reason. I for one am absolutely 100% certain that the program author is in no way attaching any form of spyware or similiar to his program. I've downloaded it too.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
