The historical data tells you the time that a selection was first matched at a particular odds, and the last time that it was matched at those odds. It also tells you the total amount that was matched at those odds. From that, you can't produce a graph showing the movement of prices over time.

TamsLoup ... you are correct in stating that the Historical Data Download does not present the amounts of money matched in a time series, and in warning LayIt, or anyone else, not to waste their time trying to make it do so.

However, I`m quite surprised by your statement. " As a monopoly, customer relations isn't really Betfair's priority."

It seems to me that Betfair have gone to great lengths to provide, via their API, almost unprecedented access to the data that they collect.

If people choose to ignore Betfair`s copyright, and not to use the API, they should hardly be surprised that Betfair don`t present the data in quite the format that they would prefer.

gus, I don't understand how I am infringing copyright by not using the API. Technically it's the same as using a Web Browser or are people not allowed to use their own Browsers?

Does anyone else find that 3 markets can not be opened at the same time? As soon as I do this the tabs keep changing from one market to another and it appears to fall over itself?

Just curious if this is a problem with the programme or with my computer?

I presume BF are happy for you to make your program generally available - or they would have e-mailed to ask you to stop.

However, if you develop it into a trading platform, will you start making yourself liable if things screw up as with the comma error?

I don't know if its enough just to issue a disclaimer or the fact that you don't seem to be doing it for profit.

Just something to bear in mind as you said yuo were only doing it to learn Basic for a new job.

When's it start

horselover777. Error 404 means the site was contacted successfully but chose to return an error message instead of the page. I don't yet know why some people have this problem. Are you getting this error with version 0.89i ?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
