Brilliant Program.

Just tried versaion 2a and tried to back the fiels at 1.01.
The program backed the field at available odds.

Just thought I would let you know

Hi Colmac

I suggest you don't back the field at 1.01. Sure you're guaranteed a winner, but unless there are over 100 runners in an event, you will lose overall.

It's not Layit's program that changes the odds. It the default behaviour of Betfair. It matches you immediately with the best odds available.

Hi Everyone,

Well it has taken me two days but at last i have finished reading the entire thread so as to understand the program and how it has developed since the begining. Been using it with small stakes for two days now and have to give it major thumbs up. Cant believe how genour layit has been making this available and in the amount of time he must have devoted to it.

If i may can i put forward some suggestions that i feel would improve the program:-

1. The start time clock and time until start clock; could these be placed higher up to make them easier to see, make one one colur and the other another to make it easier to tell the difference between them and also possibly make them a little bigger.

2.Some where say top right would it possible to show your (i mean my) balance and have this auto refresh with the rest of the data.

3. The black bar that show the last transaction; would it be possible for this to show 2 or possibly three of the last few transactions?

4.Possibly include black lines down the side of the last lay button and the last back button between those buttons and the arrows (hope you get what i mean, though it might just make it more easy to see things.)

5. Would it be possible to make the bet history part taller or shorter for example if there were only 5 runners drag this bit up to see more of the history section, or shorter if there were numerous runners so as to be able to see all the runners?

Think that is enough for now, hope you take these points as constructive critisim. Excellent Program!

The new feauture "cancel remaining when matched" is exactly what I'm looking for.
used it today, but despite being ticked lay bets continued to be matched in running - had to cancel them "manually" using the cancel all button. No damage, still made profit, but am I missing something? I just clicked the box before laying the field...

Mmm, thanks Sally and layit.

Tried it moret than once after your posts to make sure, and it definitely did not cancel my remaining bets. I had to cancel them manually.

Will try and test tomorrow again with small stakes.

I wonder if it could be related to my normal IE browser being open at BF at the same time, perhaps?

LayItYouMug, any news on the things i suggested above? Also one other minor thing would it be possible for you to design a better desktop icon? The one at the moment is a little plain, just a small thing as i have nothing better to do with my time at the moment. Sorry.

New feature. There is a new option on the main menu called 'Excel' (version 0.93). You can now choose an open spreadsheet to be updated with the prices on every refresh.

I am not ignoring any suggestions. There are some good ones and I will try and incorporate then when I get the time.

Layit,

With the Excel feature. Is it possible to import your P&L against selection and your betting history on the event (matched and unmatched bets). Perhaps, this feature perhaps can be optional.

Thanks a million.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
