Also demonstrates using a custom function to incorporate the data with triggered betting. See column Y.

I have updated the example to work with the new Racing Post site. You can download it using the link in the previous message.

I have added the ability for it to login using your credentials so that if you are a member you can get the prices before 9.00am. Just edit module1 and change the userName and password constants.

I have fixed it to work with the recent changes made to the Racing Post website.

It now takes a few minutes when you start logging to the first market to load all the prices into memory. It has to retrieve a lot more data than it did previously. This delay only occurs on the first market.

I have had to update it again today as one of the races is in a slightly different format and enough to stop the whole thing working.

I have updated it to ignore duplicate horse names. This should be very rare, but it happened today. When there is a duplicate the price will be zero. This was a quick fix, if I get more time in the future I will make it return both horses.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
