Next API release

Postby GaryRussell » Thu Aug 31, 2006 12:50 pm

The next API release will hopefully be sometime over the weekend. This release should fix many issues including the following.

1) It will use API ver 5 to access Australian markets. It will include a function to transfer funds between wallets (KYC permitting).

2) Not all markets are available to select (eg. Golf outright winner markets)

3) Incorrect matched odds returned by Excel triggered betting.

4) Show place markets and win markets together (horse racing) was not implemented.

5) 'New Page' feature was not implemented for selecting multiple markets.

6) Racing silks were not shown due to this information not being available through the API. The program will grab the info from the main site.

7) Refresh a bit sluggish due to inefficient use of requests to the server.

Please bear with me as this all has to be done by myself and I have a day job.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
