Automatic start of race when previous one has ended

Postby mellenec » Sun Jul 20, 2008 1:47 pm

Currently, the Auto Select Markets menu gives you 3 choices to start a race.
Because I want to record some data in running in every race till its end, none of these choices suits me.
So, when my program has detected that the race is no longer In Play ( E2 cell content), how can I continue with the next race?

Assuming you are using Excel to record the data, you need to put a -1 in cell Q2 when the end of the race is detected. This will move you to the next race in the quick pick list.

It works, but what I get is the next race of the current COURSE!javascript:emoticon('')
Shocked
to day for example, after the 315 Yarm I got the 345 Yarm, instead of the 330 Ayr.
Is Gruss aware of this glitch ?

That's not a problem I am aware of. It selects the next race in the quick pick list. I presume you are using VBA to populate the cell. Are you sure your VBA is correct and it isn't populating the cell multiple times in quickk succession?

I admit that it is a possibility and I will check that.
Thank you,

I've had no problems - it always seems to pick the next one in the quick pick list.

Hello Gary

I have seen this advice throughout the forum to use cell Q2 to move to the next race when the previous has finished running. However I have been using that cell to manage the data call rate (based on other advice in the forum).

If I use this cell to move to next race, is there a way to make sure the call rate remains the same for every race that BA moves to in the quick pick list?

cheers

If you are always using the same rate then select preferences from the options menu and change the default refresh rate in general preferences.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
