I just tried loading up the Ladbrokes Live Odds file in conjunction with the betting assistant. It updates/refreshes fine, but for whatever reason, the 'live odds' are not updating and instead "#VALUE!" is present there. Any idea as to how I can fix this?

Thanks

Various UK races today (Hamilton, Leicester etc), not ones from abroad. I made sure that macros were enabled of course. Maybe it was something I did wrong as I'm quite new to excel, so I will check again tomorrow. It seems likely that it's something by end, else others would've commented too.

Besides the #VALUE listing there is an exclamation error. Hovering over this reveals the message "a value listed in the formula is of the wrong data type". The actual value of the ods cells in question is =getliveodds(A6,A$1), =getliveodds(A7,A$1) and so on. I haven't changed anything.

Rather embarrassing, but after checking everything I actually believe that my issue could be firewall related, so I will check out a race or two tomorrow to be sure and get back to the thread. Thanks.

Good news, I'm checking out the early markets today and it works like a dream so as I suspected, the problem was my end :). Thanks very much for the work you put into this Gary.

For some reason when I use the Lads liveprices file, the prices load up but on the next refresh they all go to zero. Odd. Any ideas ?

Hi Gary

I am using your GetLiveShow to access the sporting life show which I am finding very useful. So a big thanks for that.

Now I would also like to get the race status information which follows the distance and number of runners so that I can trigger the bets when they are Going Down. Is this something that you could do ??????????

Thanks anyway
John

Anybody know if this is still working ?

Download it again from the link below.

http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Excel/L ... e_Odds.xls

I either get a VALUE! error or nonsense numbers where the price should be. Any help gratefully received...

I've just tried it today. It still works, but some prices were not being picked up. I have made a small fix. Please download it again and let me know if you still have the problem.

Hi Gary,

I'm trying this for this first time and although the race data is fine and refreshing as usual the prices in the Live Odds column all initialise to zero and stay that way.

Am I doing something daft?

Thanks

Due to way the code picks up the URL for the prices it only works in the hour or two leading up to the race, not the night before.

Is there a similar command available for bet365 for instance. I'm working out the current profit availble from their 4/1 offer manually at the moment, sometimes missing out on a good deal as a result. Ladbrokes had a similar offer for a while but hasnt been offered since Cheltenham.

I haven't looked at Bet365 to see if it's possible. It does take a fair bit of time to put these examples together and unfortunately I don't have spare time at present. I'll put up an example if I get any spare time.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
