voided bets in spite of completion

Postby mellenec » Mon Jul 27, 2009 8:44 am

3 days ago (24july), using BA, I placed in running several Lay bets on Iceman George ,closed with a Back bet.
I am absolutely sure of this bets, as I am sure I clearly saw a profit in the Profit column after I finally greened up.
Later, as I wasn't seeing this profit in my account, I learnt that all the bets on this horse had been declared void, because Iceman George had been withdrawn.
What is the explanation of that? was the horse withdrawn AFTER the race?

(idem for Marie de Medici the same day)

Hi,

I have moved this to discussion topic as this is not a bug with the software.

Betfair can and do void bets at any time.

I know it's frustrating when you have created yourself a profit situation.

I don't know the details about this particular race and there is no message in the service area of the Betfair Forum.

Regards,
Mark

You posted a message about this previously, see http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3725, and I said you should contact Betfair. Only Betfair can give you an explanation of what happened with this particular race.

I couldn't find it on 24/7/09 either Ian.

If the horse as a non-runner regardless of when Betfair took it out of the betting you can't expect them to pay out on any green you built up on it as back and lays would be voided.

Here you can see at the bottom that Iceman George was a Non-Runner:

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
