stop loss sometimes doesnt work

Postby neeeel » Wed Jun 30, 2010 3:05 pm

Sometimes, the stop loss doesnt trigger. I cant see any pattern to it.

the trigger I am using to place a bet is :

LAY-TL1-F15-SL3-L

any ideas?

Are you sure it's not just a case if it not being matched? Look in the transaction log under the account menu and see if there is an entry for the stop loss bet.

the price went way through the stop loss price, so theres no way it wasnt matched

Did you check the transaction log for evidence of it placing it?

If it's not in the log then I will need more information. You can send the file named BA_Diagnostic.txt in "C:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs" to admin@gruss-software.co.uk
You will need to send the file before the next time you open the program otherwise it will be overwritten.

If the log also does not give enough information I will investigate further.

there are a lot of bets placed on the race in question, will take me a while to go through them all and see exactly what happened, unless you have something that will do that for u?

You can drag and highlight everything in the grid and use ctrl+c to copy it to the clipboard. You can then paste it into an email for me to have a look at. Just let me know the bet ref of the original lay bet. If you send the diagnostic log in the same email it will also help.

I didn't mean mybets. Here is a video demonstrating copying the transaction log.

The stop loss works fine but only prior to the event. In play the stop
loss is triggered as well but by the time it reaches the market the odds are
completely different and the stop loss isn't matched even if "the price went
through the stop loss price".

I've received the log files thank you, but you haven't given me the bet ref of a lay bet where the stop loss back bet failed to trigger. Can you email me the lay bet reference?

Like i said, there are a lot of bets on the race in question, and it was automated, so I dont know which one failed. I will go through the files and see if I can locate it

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
